Most recovery apps treat compulsive habits like a willpower failure. They store your most private writing in plaintext on servers they control. They optimize for engagement rather than for change. Hexys is built differently, and the difference is the entire point.
WHAT WE BELIEVE

If you cannot write honestly about what you are going through, no recovery app can actually help you. That is why your journal is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches our servers. We literally cannot read it.

Compulsive use rewires the dopamine system. Tolerance, cue-conditioning, and prefrontal-cortex changes are the same mechanisms that drive substance addiction. Hexys explains the neuroscience plainly, so you can work with how your brain actually changes. Whatever else you bring to your recovery, faith, philosophy, or none of the above, the biology is part of the picture.

You should not have to tell someone in your life to get help with something this private. Pods give you four other people who are working on the same thing, with no real names, no link to your other identities, and no way for it to follow you.

Setbacks happen, and they are data rather than failure. Hexys tracks streak and XP separately so a slip resets the streak counter without erasing the progress you have made. Twelve different ways to earn XP every day means there is always a next move.
WHY “HEXYS”
Hexis, the Greek root of Hexys.
Hexis is Aristotle's word for a settled disposition. A practice repeated so deeply that it stops being effortful and becomes part of who you are.
Recovery isn't about resisting forever. It's about building new patterns until the new pattern is you. That is the goal. That is the name.
FOUNDERS’ NOTE
We built this fast because the people who need it could not wait. We are not the first people to try and build a recovery app, but we are trying to be among the first who actually understood what it had to be: private, honest about the neuroscience, and patient with setbacks. We built every part of Hexys for the version of ourselves who needed it five years ago, and the version of you who is reading this now.
