Your journal entries are encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM before they're ever sent to our servers. The encryption key is derived from your account credentials and stays on your device. It never reaches us. We store only the ciphertext, which means we mathematically cannot read what you've written. Even if our servers were compromised or subpoenaed, the entries would be unreadable. This is what makes Hexys zero-knowledge by design.
A Recovery Pod matches you with four other people working on the same recovery goal. You communicate only through your pod alias, and no one in your pod knows your real name or sees you anywhere else in the app. An Accountability Partner is someone you already know in real life, like a friend, family member, or therapist, who receives email digests of your progress. They never need to download Hexys. You can have both active at the same time. Pods exist for when you don't have someone you can tell. Accountability Partners exist for when you do.
Cancellations go through whichever store processed your subscription. On iOS, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Hexys Core, then Cancel Subscription. On Android, open the Play Store app, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Hexys Core, then Cancel. Cancelling stops future renewals, and your existing access continues until the end of your current billing period. We never charge you again after that.
Your streak resets when you log a relapse in the app. This is intentional, since the streak measures consecutive days clean, so it has to start over after a slip. Your XP and your level do not reset, only the streak counter. If your streak reset and you did not log a relapse, that is a bug, and we'd like to know about it at support@hexys.app. Keep in mind that the streak does not reset for missed check-ins, only for logged relapses.
Open the Accountability tab in Hexys, tap Invite Partner, and enter their email address. They will receive an invitation email and start getting digest updates on the schedule you choose, either weekly or biweekly. You stay in control of what they see, and you can pause or remove them at any time. Your partner never has to download the app. Everything happens through email on their end.
Yes. Hexys supports faith-aligned recovery for users who want it. Pod matching considers faith preferences when forming groups, and faith-coded content is clearly labeled in the app. Users who prefer secular recovery can use every other part of the app the same way, and faith-specific resources stay separate from their experience.
Yes on iOS, automatically. The Safari Content Blocker uses Apple's system-level API, which applies to private browsing tabs and any app that uses Apple's WebKit engine. On Android, the VPN-based DNS filter works at the operating system level, covering every browser including their incognito modes, plus every app on the device. The blocker never sees your browsing history because the filtering rules run locally on your device. Apple and Hexys both designed it this way.
Yes. Sign in with the same account on your new device and your data syncs automatically, including your streak, XP, journal entries, pod memberships, and settings. Because your journal is encrypted with a key derived from your credentials, you will see your entries in plaintext on the new device once you sign in. We never see them in either place. If you have forgotten your credentials, contact support@hexys.app and we will help you recover access without ever exposing your journal contents.
Email support@hexys.app and tell us what happened. Include your device (iOS or Android), the app version (Settings, then About), and a description of what you saw versus what you expected. Screenshots help. We read every email from a real person and usually respond the same day. For feature requests, the same address works. We read every one, even if we cannot reply to each individually.
