Hexys is live on iOS and Android

One week ago today, on May 6, Hexys went live on the Apple App Store. As of this morning, we're happy to announce that we are live on Google Play as well. That means anyone with a smartphone, anyone reading this, can now download and use Hexys.

Reaching both platforms within a week of launch is a milestone worth marking openly rather than letting it pass quietly. So here is where we are, what we built, and what comes next.

Why we built this

Hexys is a behavioral recovery platform with its first module focused specifically on pornography recovery. It exists because the people who struggle with this part of their lives have been underserved by the tools available to them. The category is full of apps that lecture, that shame, that turn private struggles into upsell funnels, and that collect deeply personal data while storing it in ways that do not protect it.

We thought it should be possible to build something different. Something that respects users as adults, treats recovery as a skill-building process rather than a moral failing, and protects the data people share with it more rigorously than any other app in this space.

What makes Hexys different

Three things matter most to us, and each of them shaped how we built the product.

Privacy that is architectural, not promised. Journal entries and other sensitive data in Hexys is encrypted on your device with a key derived from a recovery phrase that never reaches our servers. We store ciphertext only. We do not have the technical ability to read what you write in your journal, even if we wanted to, even if we were compelled to. Not as a policy promise, but as a property of how the app is built.

This matters because earlier this year a major app in our space had a serious breach that exposed over 600,000 users' usernames, behavioral logs, and private journal entries. For most apps, a breach is a public relations problem. For a recovery app, where users have been tracking some of the most private and vulnerable moments of their lives, the harm is qualitatively different. We started building Hexys before that breach, but watching it unfold confirmed for us that privacy in this category cannot be a promise. It has to be the architecture itself.

No shame, by design. Our approach to recovery is grounded in neuroscience and habit change, not in guilt cycles. Your AI companion, Arcos, is built to walk alongside you, not condemn you. The progression system rewards consistency over perfection. If you relapse, you do not get punished. You use that as data to better equip you as you continue to build your Hexys.

A business model that does not depend on you failing. We do not run ads. We do not sell data. We do not profile your behavior to monetize through third parties. Hexys is funded entirely by people who choose to subscribe to Hexys Core, which is what lets us build something for users rather than something built on top of users.

The bigger picture

Behavioral recovery deserves better tools. The community of people working on changing this part of their lives is large and largely invisible to the wider tech industry. They have been served mostly by apps that do not take their privacy seriously, by communities that use shame as a behavior modification technique, and by businesses that quietly profit from relapses.

We do not claim to have solved this. We have built version 1.0 of what we hope is a meaningfully better starting point. The architecture is sound, the approach is grounded, and the user experience treats people the way we would want to be treated if it was us reaching for help.

What comes next

Now that we are live on both platforms, the work shifts from launching to learning. We are going to listen to the people using Hexys, fix what is not working, build what is missing, and keep the same standards on data, dignity, and design that brought us here.

If you have been waiting for an app in this space that takes you seriously, we would love for you to try Hexys. Download on the Apple App Store or Google Play. As part of our launch week, your first month of Hexys Core is free. Subscription auto-renews unless cancelled in your device settings, and you can cancel anytime.

And if you have been part of this journey already, the early waitlisters, the friends and family, the people who believed in this when it was just an idea, thank you. We would not be here without you.
